Brockton Clean Energy’s Economic Stimulus Package
Brockton Clean Energy is a $350,000,000 construction project, equal to one-third of the entire federal infrastructure stimulus package awarded to the state of Massachusetts. Additionally, during operation approximately $3,000,000 will be paid directly to the City of Brockton annually as taxes and payments.
- $45 Million ($1,500,000/yr taxes for 30 years)
- $15 Million ($500,000/yr water fee for 30 years)
- $30 Million ($1,000,000/yr for expanding treatment capacity for 30 years)
In addition the annual taxes and payments the investment represents construction jobs, materials contracts and other goods and services. The Project would be the largest investment ever in the City of Brockton’s history. Couple the infrastructure investment with the $50,000,000 payroll during construction and Brockton Clean Energy is the largest public works project in Massachusetts since Boston’s Big Dig. Think of what this means for business as usual in Brockton.
Brockton Clean Energy will “STAND UP!”
Brockton Clean Energy will partner with community groups across the city to assure that important services continue despite the deep budget cuts at the state and local level. The Friends of the Council on Aging, Save our Sports, Municipal Environmental Development (who raise money to improve the city’s green spaces), are a few examples of how Brockton Clean Energy can “Stand up!” for Brockton.
